Yes but you chose Ukraine, an entirely black and white affair, where the dollar values are represented in old weapons, and not, say, tax cuts for the wealthy or failing to extend the child tax credit.

Supposedly smart weapons who worked fine against insurgent is no way near as effective against a big power. Ukraine war is about volume and raw fire power. Long range Himars and drone attacks look cool but do not really change the need for sizeble armies.

Weapons for Ukraine, to beat the Russians. They do send weapons and amunition that is on stock in US and order replacements from US manufacturer.
