California English has the full cot-caught merger — “cot” and “caught,” “Don” and “dawn,” “hock” and “hawk” are homophones. This merger is shared with most of the West and Midwest but contrasts with the East Coast (NYC, Philadelphia, Boston maintain the distinction).
