Actually, it was Obama that refused to send any weapons to Ukraine during that time. He sent aid, but no real weapons. When Trump took office, he sent Javelin missles to Ukraine – something the had asked for and been refused by prior US administrations.

This is not the case. Ukraine did not control the Nuclear weapons on their territory, they were under the control of the Russian military which repatriated them to Russia. They could have fought Russia for them at that time but for good reason they did not.
