Reform UK has unveiled plans to ban migrants from claiming welfare benefits in Britain, which would save taxpayers £21 billion a year.
Under the proposals, foreign nationals would lose access to benefits including Universal Credit, housing benefit, pension credit, Jobseeker’s Allowance, child benefit, free childcare and disability benefits.
“The British taxpayer is acting as the welfare state for the world. That’s unfair, we all know it,” Reform’s economy spokesman @RobertJenrick said.
The party also wants people deemed fit to work who have been claiming benefits for more than a year to perform 20 hours of community work every week, such as cleaning streets and parks or carrying out minor repairs at libraries and community centers.
